Timothy Ihrig, M.D.
Dr. Timothy Ihrig currently serves as a practicing physician and Medical Director of Palliative Care at Trinity Regional Medical Center (pioneer ACO) within the Unity Point Health System.(www.unitypoint.org) Dr. Ihrig is endorsed by the Center for Advancement of Palliative Care as a national level clinician-educator. He also holds appointments as Clinical Adjunct Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Iowa Carver School of Medicine and acts as a Palliative Care clinical instructor. He is on the board of the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of Iowa, is the chair of the Advocacy Committee and sits on the Palliative Care Advisory Committee. He has been an Expert Source for Palliative Care Development in an Accountable Care Organization in a Rural Community for the Brookings Institution in Washington D.C., and was the sole practicing physician assisting the Iowa General Assembly in raising minimum standard requirements for Iowa physicians with respect to end-of-life care and oversight of use of prescriptive narcotics. He also acted as an expert clinician in support of Iowa Physician Orders for the Life Sustaining Treatment bill.
Dr. Ihrig attained a degree in medicine from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine and a Masters degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Iowa, Des Moines and a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California.
Perry Farmer has more than 25 years in the hospice industry where he has been instrumental in changing the way hospice care is delivered. In 1995, Perry embraced a lifelong dream and along with his family, started Crossroads Hospice as co-founder and President. Perry remains as President and during his tenure, Crossroads Hospice has expanded into 11 markets in seven states with an annual revenue in excess of $225 million and over 1,900 employees. Perry attributes the success of Crossroads Hospice as a provider of exemplary care delivery through commitment, passion, and innovation.
Walter George, M.D.
Dr. Walter George has been the National Corporate Medical Director for Crossroads Hospice since 2011. During the last 4 years, Dr. George’s focus has been spent practicing Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine. Committed to creating a palliative care program that encompasses the values and traditions and “expect more” philosophy on which Crossroads Hospice was built, Dr. George was responsible for the creation and launch of the Crossroads Palliative Care program in 2014. In the past year, growth of the Crossroads Palliative Care program has exceeded expectations.
Dr. George brings unique perspectives and analytical skills to patient care. During his tenure as a practicing radiologist, Dr. George became a pioneering specialist in the design of software and computers that facilitated digital imaging. Dr. George graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology & Nuclear Medicine at Stanford University Medical Center.
Scott Yates, M.D., M.B.A, M.S.
Dr. Scott Yates is founder and president of a leading concierge medical practice, the Center for Executive Medicine. Dr. Yates and his team counsel successful families around the world to coordinate all aspects of their wellness, preventive and acute medical care. His experience spans for-profit and philanthropic organizations in diverse areas including capital allocation, education, managed care, information technology and medicine. He is currently the President of the Texas Academy of Internal Medicine Foundation and is a member of the board of directors of the foundation. Dr. Yates is chairman of the board of managers of Genesis Accountable Physician Network, an independent Accountable Care Organization in North Texas. He also serves as a member of the board of directors of the Genesis Physicians Group (a 1,400 member Independent Physician Association) and GenHealth (a joint venture between Genesis Physicians Group and HealthWays).
Brent McCarty has more than 25 years as a senior executive in the healthcare and technology industries, specifically in multi-site healthcare companies. Currently, Mr. McCarty is CEO of Sentient Medical Systems, one of the nation’s leading neurophysiological intra-operative monitoring companies, located in over 30 states and 300 hospitals. Mr. McCarty is a current Board Member for Avadyne Health, an innovative technology revenue cycle management company based in San Diego, CA.
Prior to joining Sentient, Mr. McCarty was President of Accuro Healthcare Solutions, Inc., a technology enabled revenue cycle management company.
Mr. McCarty has served in executive leadership roles for national companies in the ambulatory surgical center market as well as the physician practice management market and former Board Member of Encompass Home Health. Mr. McCarty began his career in healthcare with Epic Healthcare Group, an owner/operator of acute care hospitals and other ancillary services. Mr. McCarty’s technology and healthcare industry experience are vital to Curantis Solutions and its many clients. Mr. McCarty received a BBA from Texas Tech University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
James is the Chief Executive Officer of Solis Mammography, a leading network of breast screening and diagnostic centers with a unified purpose – delivering exceptional care and peace of mind in breast health.
Prior to accepting the position of Chief Executive Officer at Solis, James served as CEO of Memorial Hermann Hospital’s Retail Healthcare Business from 2004-2011. He was responsible for all business aspects of 28 outpatient imaging centers, 27 physical therapy centers, 20 ambulatory surgical centers, and 37 outreach lab facilities.
Earlier in his career, James held the position of Vice President of Operations for River Oaks Imaging and Diagnostics located in Houston, Texas from 2001-2003. He was ultimately responsible for the overall operation, profitability and strategic growth of the largest independently owned freestanding imaging company in Houston over a period of three years.
James received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Engineering from the University of Natal in South Africa. He also earned a Master’s Degree in Finance from the Bauer College at the University of Houston.
James is an avid rugby fan along with pursuing interests in saltwater fishing and international travel.
Charlene Ross, M.S.N., R.N.,M.B.A
Since beginning her career as a nurse leader, Charlene has successfully analyzed problems, developed and simplified procedures, and implemented innovative solutions to improve organizational operations for hospitals and hospice programs across the country. Her previous experience includes various senior leadership roles at a large multi-site hospice provider and numerous hospital-based leadership positions.
In her current role as a hospice consultant and a founding partner of R&C Healthcare Solutions and Hospice Fundamentals, (www.rchealthcaresolutions.com) Charlene serves the hospice and hospice support industry through a wide range of services, including regulatory and operational support, quality assessment, and performance improvement. As an educator, she works with clients to develop regulatory competence, a deeper understanding of QAPI and better documentation supporting eligibility as well as other relevant hospice topics.
Charlene holds a BSN from Incarnate Word College, a MSN in Nursing from University of Texas Health Science Center, and a MBA from University of Incarnate Word.
