
Beau Sorensen
Beau has over 25 years of dedicated experience in the healthcare industry, with special expertise in hospice and home care. He is the former Administrator of Advantage In-Home Care and has held various pivotal roles at First Choice, including Director of Operations, Administrator, CFO, and COO.
At First Choice, Beau orchestrated transformative changes within his departments and the company, leading to remarkable results. Within a span of just two years, he propelled First Choice’s clinical outcomes from the 33rd percentile to the 99th percentile while achieving annual savings of over $1 million by optimizing operational efficiency. His proficiency extends to software systems, where he collaborated with Allscripts to test and develop major features in their Homecare application. These innovations included integrations facilitating a fully electronic medical record and a user-friendly app for clinical personnel. Thanks to these efforts, First Choice emerged as a national leader in adopting a fully electronic chart among home health and hospice agencies. Beau also serves as COO of Visionbound International, focusing his work on the home health and hospice community.
Beau is actively engaged in the home care and hospice community, and has served as Legislative Director and President for the Utah Association for Home Care, in addition to being a member of the Home Health Financial Managers Association (HHFMA) Advisory Board, co-chair of the HHFMA Data Analytics Committee, Education Chair of the Home Care Technology Advocacy Council, member of the National Association for Homecare & Hospice (NAHC) Finance Committee, member of the NAHC Advocacy Council, and member of the HHFMA Workgroup.
Beau is actively involved in politics and advocacy, serving as a Legislative District chair, vice chair, and education chair in the Utah Republican Party. He has advocated passionately for home health and hospice at both Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, and within Utah.
As a sought-after speaker, he has presented breakout sessions and keynote addresses nationwide on topics ranging from customer and employee loyalty to the strategic use of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare, improving outcomes, fostering a robust organizational culture, and effective change management. Additionally, he is an expert consultant on optimizing EMR software utilization, extracting valuable insights from existing SQL databases, transforming your organization, retaining staff and customers, using AI in your organization, and providing tailored guidance for organizational process improvements.
